"Storytelling that makes a difference."
There is humanity in everything, and whether it's breaking news, spot news, continued coverage or enterprising, I tell stories that viewers care about.
I am currently the Weekend Morning Anchor at Hearst's WISN-12 in Milwaukee, WI. You can catch me Weekends from 5-6 a.m and 7-9 a.m., during the week day I'm in the field reporting. I studied Journalism with a Spanish-Language Journalism emphasis, and graduated with my Bachelors of Arts from the Mike Curb College of Arts, Media and Communication at the California State University of Northridge.
I began my journey in journalism on the web producing team at KTLA-5 in Los Angeles. From there, I landed my first on-air reporting position as a Multi-Media Journalist at the CBS-affiliate station in Charlottesville, Virginia.
My career has taken me across the country, where I have covered a number of major stories, including the Charlottesville monument protests, the Las Vegas mass shooting, the release of O.J. Simpson, the trial of David Copperfield, the Miller Brewery shooting rampage, and Kenosha unrest. Most recently, I launched Hispanic Heritage Month coverage at WISN, earning an Emmy-nomination, led the station's Black History Month coverage and co-anchored WISN’s Juneteenth Special, celebrating Milwaukee’s 50th anniversary of the holiday event.
I've broken a number of stories in Southeastern Wisconsin including the racially-motivated acid-attack against a Latino man, which became national news after I obtained excusive footage of the altercation. I also exclusively spoke with the families of the first 3 victims to die from COVID-19. I owe that, to the strong relationships I’ve developed in the community.
I am a graduate of the NPPA's Y57 class and have a strong love for storytelling. I earned an Emmy for my reporting on Las Vegas gangs, Multiple Associated Press awards, was named 2016 Michele Clark Fellow by the RTDNA, and was awarded 'Best Social Media Personality,' by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.
I grew up in Sacramento, CA where I developed a love for travel. I've lived in Jamaica, Alaska, Florida, Nevada, Virginia, Wisconsin and all over California through the years. I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the co-founder of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists - Wisconsin Chapter and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
Along with traveling, I also love photography, eating, and Tweeting!
